You simply drive there via a bridge from the mainland \u2013 which feels almost unfairly easy for an island with such beaches. The <strong data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1718\">Dimosari waterfall<\/strong>, near Nidri, lies in a gorge full of greenery. The hike there (approx. 3.5 km) is lovely \u2013 even when it&#8217;s hot, because the path is partly shaded. I literally stuck my head under the water there. Wonderfully refreshing!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"2060\"><strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1973\">My tip:<\/strong> Go early in the day or just before sunset. Less crowded and better light for photos.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2067\" data-end=\"2120\">Lefkas beaches \u2013 sand, cliffs and turquoise water<\/h2>\n<p>Lefkas (Lefkada) is known for its breathtaking beaches with crystal-clear blue water and impressive cliffs. You paddle along rock walls and then float above crystal-clear water \u2013 snorkel on, and you swim among fish as if you&#8217;re in an aquarium. And yes, there&#8217;s a Greek snack along the way. The tour is short but powerful, and you get to taste. Thanks to a constant thermal wind (the locals call it &#8220;Eric&#8221;), you can hit the water almost every day here. Even as a beginner, I found it super accessible and fun!<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5261\" data-end=\"5311\">Sunset at Cape Doukato (Sappho&#8217;s cliff)<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5313\" data-end=\"5595\">If there&#8217;s one place where nature leaves you speechless, it&#8217;s here. <strong data-start=\"5379\" data-end=\"5395\">Cape Doukato<\/strong>, also known as <strong data-start=\"5405\" data-end=\"5423\">Sappho&#8217;s cliff<\/strong>, sits at the southern tip of Lefkas. You stand on a limestone cliff, dozens of metres above the sea. The sun slowly sinks below the horizon. Goosebumps guaranteed.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5602\" data-end=\"5666\">Day trip to Meganisi: a little island to fall in love with<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5668\" data-end=\"5979\">Take a small boat (bookable in Nidri) to <strong data-start=\"5723\" data-end=\"5735\">Meganisi<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll arrive at a tiny harbour full of colourful fishing boats, then discover sheltered beaches perfect for snorkelling.
