Especially at sunset, many locals and travelers gather here to watch the city slowly change color.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"690\">The fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and, along with Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort, was part of Jaipur&#8217;s defense structures. The name Nahargarh literally means <em data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"588\">&#8216;abode of tigers&#8217;<\/em>, although there is also a local legend about a spirit that supposedly disrupted the fort&#8217;s construction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"948\">Nowadays, visitors come mainly for the view, but the historical fort and the Madhavendra Bhawan palace are also worth a visit.
