Argostoli is the capital of Kefalonia<\/strong>. You reach the city via the famous nine-hundred-meter-long Drapanos Bridge. On the large square in the city, you’ll find many cozy terraces, restaurants, and taverns.<\/p>\n

In 1953, the island of Kefalonia was almost completely destroyed by an earthquake. In the cultural and historical museum, you can see what Kefalonia looked like before this earthquake. This is impressive, as almost nothing of Kefalonia remains.<\/p>\n

Just outside Argostoli are beautiful botanical gardens where you can stroll. In the harbor of Argostoli, you can spot large turtles to the right of the footbridge. You can also rent pedal boats here to get a closer and better view of the turtles.<\/p>\n

With a peak of 1628 meters, Ainos is the highest mountain of Kefalonia. Together with the surrounding area, this is the national park of Kefalonia.
