During a renovation of the historic center in the 15th century, it was decided to build this Gothic city hall. It was constructed in two phases, taking about 30 years to complete. You don&#8217;t need to be an expert in Gothic architecture to recognize the historic town hall. Adorned with statues and featuring several beautiful towers, this building immediately catches the eye as you stroll through this vibrant student city. It might be a bit of an unusual church as it looks somewhat different from what you&#8217;re used to seeing in other Belgian cities. This is because the construction was never fully completed. The plans for this Brabantine Gothic work included two towers, but after about 600 years, they are still missing. Chances are they&#8217;ve abandoned that plan. What is completed, however, is the interior. The nave of St. Peter&#8217;s Church is beautiful in its simplicity.
