Ondanks dat de meeste mensen zullen denken dat de Akropolis het symbool van de stad is, is dat eigenlijk het Parthenon Athene. Dit is namelijk de tempel die op de Akropolis berg staat. De tempel is een must see wanneer je op stedentrip bent in de metropool!<\/p>\n

Wat is het Parthenon Athene?<\/h2>\n

De tempel is gewijd aan de godin Pallas Athena. Dit was de eerste tempel die in de 5e eeuw voor Christus op de Akropolis werd gebouwd. Het Parthenon in Athene is ontworpen door beeldhouwer Phidias en nu nog steeds prachtig, maar ziet er niet meer zo uit als in de oudheid. Destijds had de tempel een dak, muren, schilderingen en gevels. Delen van het bouwwerk zijn nu nog te zien in het Akropolis Museum of British Museum in Londen.<\/p>\n

De verhoudingen<\/b>
\nDe verhoudingen maken dit bouwwerk juist zo speciaal. Overal is gebouwd met de verhouding 4:9, zowel voor de oppervlakte en hoogt eals voor de zuilen. Het gebouw is 70 meter lang en 20 meter hoog. Deze verhouding moest de grootsheid en kennis van de democratie aanduiden.<\/p>\n

De bouwstijl<\/b>
\nDe tempel is gebouwd in Dorische tempelbouwstijl, met een paar eigenaardige kenmerken. In plaats van zes zuilen heeft deze tempel acht zuilen aan de smalle zijden en ook aan de andere kanten staan meer zuilen dan normaal werden gebruikt met de Dorische tempelbouw. Door nog meer aanpassingen zorgde Phidias ervoor dat het goud beter uitkwam.<\/p>\n

Wil je het Parthenon Athene bezoeken, dan is het handig om op de hoogte te zijn van de praktische informatie.<\/p>\n

Toegangskaartje<\/b>
\nEntree voor Parthenon Athene is in het kaartje van Akropolis inbegrepen. Dit is \u20ac12, maar wordt zeer binnenkort verhoogd naar \u20ac20. Kinderen, jongeren, studenten en ouderen krijgen korting.<\/p>\n

Openingstijden<\/b>
\nDe tempel is onderdeel van de Akropolis, geopend van 08.00 tot 20.00 uur.<\/p>\n

Hoe kom je er?<\/b>
\nJe moet de Akropolis berg op lopen om bij het Parthenon uit te komen. Dit is een eenvoudige klim met trappen. De ingang bereik je via het Monastiraki plein of door bij metrohalte Acropoli uit te stappen.<\/p>\n

Tip:<\/b> boek voor het begin van je stedentrip een fietstour door de Griekse hoofdstad<\/a>. Hierdoor zie je in enkele uren al heel veel van de stad. Hierdoor heb je alle tijd over om de Akropolis en het Parthenon Athene te bezoeken!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
