What you will see:
- Geysir, the geothermal area with the famous geysers
- World famous Gullfoss waterfall
- The Thingvellir plain where the European and American continents meet
On this Golden Circle Tour you will start with a drive in a comfortable minibus along a beautiful mountain pass and lava fields before reaching the waterfall Gullfoss(Golden Waterfall). Here you will go for a 16 km (10 mi) bike ride along this impressive waterfall surrounded by nature.
You will continue on to the famous Geysir area, one of the two places where the geysers of Iceland can be seen. These natural fountains come out of the ground at about 80ºC and reach up to ten meters. Here there will be a short break with an opportunity to have a drink and snack (not included in the price).
The third stop will be at the Parliaments Plains in the Thingvellir plain. This is the very spot where the European and American continents meet. In addition, this area has great historical value for the Icelanders because all the important decisions were made here in the past. In addition, it is a very fertile and more or less protected area. This natural park is the most historical place in Iceland, a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site at the same time.
Afterwards, you will cycle another approximately 16 km (10 mi) in the Thingvellir National Park and through a mountain pass and along the Lake House, which was home to the country’s first parliament in 930 BC. There will be a short coffee stop going back towards the city and you will be back around dinner time.
