1. Timanfaya National Park
Timanfaya National Park, also known as the Montañas del Fuego, is one of the main attractions of Lanzarote. Here, you can enjoy a true lunar landscape on Earth. The volcanic landscape was formed by a volcanic eruption in 1730. There is still volcanic activity, making it impossible to hold the gravel just a few centimeters below the surface. However, the locals say that this place is not dead land, but a newborn land.
The local government offers various options to visit this protected area, such as going with a local guide. You can also visit the park by bus or opt for a camel ride.

2. Cueva de los Verdes
The Cueva de los Verdes is a cave system where you can find a lava tunnel. These caves were used by locals during the 16th and 17th centuries to hide from pirates, among others. Since the 19th century, this place has been a must-visit for travelers and scientists. A natural concert hall has also been built in the caves, and every year from October, you can enjoy concerts. Live music in a unique setting with beautiful acoustics.
The caves are not green (verde in Spanish), as Verdes refers to the name of the family who were the former owners. A visit to the caves costs €10, and they can be visited year-round from 10:00 to 16:00. More information about the concerts can be found on the official website.

3. Aqualava Waterpark
Are you on a Lanzarote city trip with your kids? Then Aqualava Waterpark is definitely a fun option to visit! The waterpark is located at the famous Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote. The waterpark offers over 9000m2 of water fun with numerous indoor and outdoor slides. Additionally, there is a lazy river, an artificial beach, and a large water playground. As you can see, there’s plenty to do in this waterpark!

4. Lago Verde
Lago Verde is one of the most visited attractions in Lanzarote. We can see why! This beautiful lake is easily accessible and free to visit. The filled crater is green due to all the algae. 5. Playa del Papagayo

Around the beach, you can find many cliffs where you can take lovely walks.

6. Jardín de Cactus
The name gives it away; at the Jardín de Cactus, you can admire numerous cacti and cactus-like euphorbias. In this botanical garden, you’ll find no less than 4,500 specimens. These come from 450 different species and 13 different cactus families from five continents. It is one of the main attractions in Lanzarote and not just any botanical garden! This quirky creation by the Spanish artist César Manrique makes it so much more.
A visit takes about an hour and a half. Tickets cost €6.50, and you can visit the garden every day of the year from 10:00 to 17:00.

7. La Geria
Do you love fine wines? Then Lanzarote is the right place for you. Delicious wines are produced here. There are many different vineyards where you can enjoy all the local wines and the stunning views from these vineyards. The best vineyards are located in the La Geria region, close to the Timanfaya National Park.

8. La Graciosa
This island is known as the smallest inhabited island of the Canary Islands. With a population of just 600 people and no roads, it is located on the north side of Lanzarote.
