You can use the direct flights to Lanzarote via Iberia or Vueling every day of the week. A direct flight from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Lanzarote takes 4h30min.
Iberia and Vueling are both budget airlines. This means you can often find a good deal to book your ticket for the city trip to Lanzarote. You can already find a direct return flight online for just under 100 euros. Always read the terms and conditions carefully. Often, baggage is not included with these budget airlines. You need to book this extra yourself.
Who is Lanzarote fun for?

Timanfaya National Park
If you want to discover nature during your city trip to Lanzarote, Timanfaya National Park is a park you really must visit. You will feel like you are on another world in this park. The protected area shows signs of various volcanic eruptions. These volcanic eruptions have caused the villages that once stood here to be completely wiped out. This happened several centuries ago, but you can still see this very well in the landscape.

A walk through the landscape of Timanfaya is very soothing. You are essentially surrounded by nothing. Nothing but nature and mountains. There is no traffic, few people, and no animals. You are truly one with nature. If you want to escape the sometimes chaotic mass tourism of Lanzarote, visit this park.
Opening hours Timanfaya National Park
The park is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm. An entrance fee is required to enter the park. You enter the park by car and drive to the parking lot of restaurant El Diablo. You can only enter the park with your own transport up to this point. From this parking lot, you can use the park buses that will take you through the park. The tour through the park takes about half an hour. You do not have to pay extra for this. During the tour, you can occasionally get out to take some photos and experience the park.
Cycling in Lanzarote
Even though Lanzarote is an island, it has very good cycling roads. These roads were built at the end of the last century and are therefore still quite new. There is not much traffic on the island, making Lanzarote a very pleasant cycling environment.

Visit the old capital of Lanzarote
Do you enjoy visiting picturesque villages during your city trip? Then put the town of Teguise on your visit list. Teguise was once the capital of Lanzarote. The name Teguise comes from an indigenous princess who later married the French explorer Jean de Béthencourt.
Teguise is known for its whitewashed streets where you can wander endlessly and its special historical buildings. You can also visit the Castillo de Santa Bárbara here. This old fort is a major tourist attraction, partly due to the pirate museum located here.
