Which Maastricht attractions should you not miss?
Het Vrijthof
Not without reason the famous square of this fortress city, both at home and abroad. What the Dam is to Amsterdam, the Vrijthof is to the people of Maastricht. A square to stroll around, enjoy a beer on one of the many terraces, or visit the Theater aan het Vrijthof. And not to forget: to visit the Romanesque St. Servatius Church. This square boasts no less than 38 national monuments, a true feast for art historians and each one a Maastricht attraction worth pausing for.

De Markt
In the city center of Maastricht lies the market. This is a square where the Maastricht City Hall is located. Bonnenfantenmuseum
Old and contemporary art exhibited together. In a very special building by the famous Italian architect Aldo Rossi. Thanks to its 28-meter-high, peculiar rocket shape, this museum is one of the landmarks of the surrounding area. Typically one of those must-see attractions. The city of Maastricht was in the European spotlight around 1992 due to the significant European Treaty. Hence the temporary creative outburst in the early nineties, which among other things, led to this museum.
Kasteelruïne Lichtenberg
The Sint Pietersberg provides pleasant entertainment after a day of sightseeing. The panoramic view alone is worth a small climb. This hill houses Fort Sint-Pieter and Maastricht Underground: access to the mysterious world in the Limburg caves. One of the attractions that make Maastricht so enjoyable for children.
