Faro del Fangar
Punta del Fangar and its lighthouse are one of the highlights of Delta del Ebro. In this expansive coastal strip, you’ll find impressive sand flats and dunes. The lighthouse and the beach are only accessible on foot. You can park at restaurant Vascos and from there, start a beautiful beach walk, highly recommended at sunrise. After about an hour’s walk (around 4km), you’ll reach the lighthouse and enjoy stunning views.
Along the way, you’ll notice that a large part of the dunes is cordoned off from the coastal strip with ropes and ribbons. You must not go beyond this point. This area is one of the most important breeding grounds for terns and gulls in the Delta. But there is plenty of beach and dunes to explore during your visit!

Trabucador Beach
Trabucador Beach or Playa del Trabucador is one of the most essential landscapes you can find in Delta de l’Ebre. The two shores of the beach are only 50 meters apart, making it a unique location. In short, the perfect spot to start or end your day and quietly enjoy the sunrise or sunset.
There is always a lot of wind here, and the area is an excellent location for water sports. It is a popular spot for kite surfers.
Birdwatching
You’ve probably seen photos of the thousands of flamingos you can find in Delta del Ebro. This nature reserve is ideal for birdwatching, especially during the winter months when around 300 bird species overwinter here. The many observatories allow you to spot the numerous birds in peace. A good pair of binoculars and a camera are definitely not a luxury here.
The best viewpoints and most birds can be found at the Tancada and Encanyissada lagoons (Llacuna de la Tancada and Llacuna de l’Encanyissada). But you can find various observatories throughout the Ebro Delta, and there’s always something to see at each point. Be sure to visit the visitor center, MónNatura. El Poble Nou del Delta
The village of El Poble Nou del Delta is one of the most charming in the region. Stroll along the beautiful white streets and houses, and discover the lovely patios. Without a doubt, it’s a nice stop and also the ideal place to taste one of the many rice specialties of the area.
Not far from here, in the village of Deltebre, you can also visit the Molí de Rafalet (by appointment). Currently, it is the only wooden mill in Delta del Ebro that still follows a traditional and artisanal production process.
Delta del Ebro attractions: bike route
The Ebro Delta is also perfect for cycling. Rent a bike and explore the nature park in an active way; we have several routes for you. The landscape in Delta del Ebro changes often, and each season has something to offer. In April, the rice fields are prepared and flooded. From May to August, the crops grow, and you can see the fields gradually change until the rice is ready to be harvested. And the best time for birdwatching is during the winter months.
