Ta Prohm, also known as the ‘Tombraider Temple,’ is famous for its intertwining with the jungle. The temple is literally embraced by giant tree roots, as you can see in the image below. Remarkable, right? 

The Bayon Temple stands out with its 216 (!!! yes, you read that right) carved faces spread over 54 towers. Each face exudes serenity. The interactive design gives the feeling of being watched from every angle. Local culture and traditions

I’m in love with the culture and traditions in Siem Reap! It’s so special and festive. I completely immersed myself in local life, and it was a unique experience. Old Market (Phsar Chas)

Phsar Chas, better known as the Old Market, is a melting pot of Cambodian culture. Here, I experience the authentic atmosphere of daily life. Local vendors offer everything from fresh fruits and spices to traditional Cambodian silk. For those looking for unique souvenirs like handmade statues or jewelry, this is the ideal spot. Don’t forget to haggle, as it’s part of the local experience! In the evening, I took a culinary tour with 10 local tastings. Delicious! Enjoyable! 

Visiting the market not only gives me a chance to buy something but also to discover Cambodian culinary culture. Stalls serve tasty dishes like nom banh chok (Cambodian noodles). Phsar Chas is within walking distance from the center and is perfect to combine with other Siem Reap attractions. You can also take a cooking class at a local’s home. Here, you also meet many fellow travelers, and the atmosphere is truly fantastic. 

Apsara Dance Performances

Apsara dance, a formal dance style dating back to the Angkor period, offers a fascinating insight into Cambodian history and art. During a performance, I see elegantly dressed dancers with graceful movements telling stories about Khmer mythology. The costumes are often adorned with sparkling gemstones and crown-like headdresses, a true theatrical spectacle!
