Amalfi bike tour: Italian splendor

This region is of course known for the beautiful city of Naples. But there is so much more to explore. This tour takes you on an adventure and is geared toward the slightly more experienced cyclists. You start from Sorrento and cycle to the lovely towns of Sant’Agnello and Piano di Sorrento. In Meta it’s time for the first slightly more difficult stage of the tour: a 5 km uphill road with a gradient of 4-5% until Colli di San Pietro. Then you go downhill until the start of Highway 163 towards Amalfi.

After this you will cycle along the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast past the famous towns of Praiano and Positano until we reach the Amalfi Cathedral. Along the way there are alternating descending and ascending roads for 2-3 km, with gradients of 4-5%. You cycle about 20 km along the Amalfi Coast overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Once you arrive in Amalfi you will enjoy a short stop to admire this charming town. Then you will cycle back to Sorrento the same way.
