Delta del Ebro, also called Delta de l’Ebre or the Ebro Delta, is the largest protected wetland in Catalonia. This natural park is one of the most beautiful areas Spain has to offer. You’ve probably seen pictures of the many flamingos you can spot here. Besides being the perfect location for birdwatching, you will also discover the many rice fields that the area is rich in, as much as more than 22,000 hectares. Your adventure gets started at the store where our colleagues will give you a brief explanation of the route and what to expect. After getting the e-bikes ready and preparing the route you will set off on your own through this amazing nature reserve. You can easily download the route on your mobile device. For this, we recommend installing the app Wikiloc in advance. The route is also available simply on a paper map should you wish.

About halfway along the route you are expected at Kenshô Sake. This is where the first, and currently the only, Spanish sake is brewed. Sake is a Japanese alcoholic drink made from rice, among other things. In addition, other Japanese delicacies such as miso, Amazake rice wine and tamari soy sauce are also produced here. All this is ecological and made with local products from the Ebro Delta. You will taste, in addition to 4 sakes, Amazake rice wine and some vegan tapas with miso.

Delta del Ebro offers an often-changing landscape and each season has something to offer. In April, the rice fields are flooded for planting. From May to August, the crops grow and you see bright green fields that gradually change to ochre yellow until the rice is ready to be picked. And the best time to spot birds are the winter months because as many as 300 bird species winter here.
