Renting a bike with us is easy:
  • Deposit: € 50 per bike or copy of an ID
  • Own risk in case of theft or damage: mountainbike €350,-, trekking bike €550,-, e-bike €1350,-

*** from Malta was really helpful, allowed change of pick-up location twice without any problem. Nice guy. However, Baja Bikes central booking system was awful. No acknowledgement that they had read or accepted where to drop off the bikes, despite completing their online form twice, and emailing them. I would give the central booking system a 1 star.

We rented trekking bikes for 10 days in Malta/Gozo. We created the routes ourselves. This review therefore focuses solely on the service and the bikes. First, I sent an email to the head office with absolutely ALL the information, from the desired frame size to the pickup location and times. Instead of forwarding the email to Malta, they had arranged a few things, and I had to call them for the location and times. A bit cumbersome. I was also surprised that the maximum rental period was one week... this could easily be extended to 10 days, but it was strange that when the rental price goes down by the day, we had to pay relatively more for the last 3 days than for the 7th. The bikes were okay. I've rented better bikes elsewhere in the world, but after a few days, you get used to the fact that you can only adjust the small gear manually, and the front brake on the other bike squeaked terribly. It was nice that a pump, repair kit, lights, and lock were included. Our own panniers easily clicked onto the frame, and we also brought our own helmets. But these can also be rented. Excellent service. The on-site contact was excellent. Delivered on time, deposit paid, and picked up promptly on time, with the deposit returned. Cycling is a great joy in our lives, so we're glad Baja Bikes was able to help us with that! I think we saw and experienced more this way than many others who visit Malta/Gozo.
