Find out why the Paramaribo Bicycle Tour is so popular
This colonial but at the same time very tropical city is perfect to discover by bike. There are no bike lanes like in the Netherlands but nevertheless you cycle on quiet roads and enjoy everything around you. Because of the many wooden buildings from colonial times, the inner city is known as “the wooden city. A highlight you don’t want and shouldn’t miss is the old Fort Zeelandia; a former Dutch fort built by Dutch colonists in the 17th century.

24 rate this tour with 4.7 starsWe had a top guide: ***
Super fun tour and learned a lot
Great guide with lots of knowledge. Nice tour. I had a great time.
We had a wonderfully informative bike tour with a fantastic guide, ***. What an enthusiastic storyteller. He took his time with us. If we had to give *** a rating, it would be a solid 10!
Despite the downpour, which lasted quite a while, the tour was truly fantastic. Thanks to our guide ***. *** is incredibly knowledgeable about Surinamese history and current affairs. Highly recommended! He even bought us ponchos and finished the tour, even though it took longer. The lead-up to the tour was a bit slow, however, as Baja Bikes hadn't passed on our reservation to the operational team. Luckily, this worked out, and the tour was even able to start two hours early. Thanks!
It was unclear that payment by credit card or SRD wasn't possible, even though it was stated otherwise. But our guide was very good!
Lots of history and little cycling, but fun and a nice guide
We thoroughly enjoyed the bike tour. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke proudly about his country. He was a pleasure to listen to. Considering the distance covered, everyone can handle the tour at their own pace. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
The guide knows a lot about the city and its inhabitants. We didn't cycle much, but it was hot and Paramaribo's center is relatively small.
