Find out why the Paramaribo Bike Tour is so popular

This colonial but at the same time very tropical city is perfect to discover by bike. There are no bike lanes like in the Netherlands but nevertheless you cycle on quiet roads and enjoy everything around you. Because of the many wooden buildings from colonial times, the inner city is known as “the wooden city. A highlight you don’t want and shouldn’t miss is the old Fort Zeelandia; a former Dutch fort built by Dutch colonists in the 17th century.

The tour was fine. Lots of information, a fun and enthusiastic guide who told us a lot with the necessary humor. What disappointed us was that we arrived with two fewer people because one person became unwell an hour beforehand and had to return to the hotel unexpectedly. I understand that we have to pay a fee, but charging the full amount for two people and then also charging an extra €*** for payment by debit card is not, in our opinion, customer-friendly. Some leniency would have been justified, in our view.

We had an incredibly educational bike tour with the amazing guide ***. What an enthusiastic storyteller. He took all the time for us. If we had to give *** a rating, it would be a solid 10!

Despite the cloudburst, which lasted quite a while, the tour was truly fantastic. Thanks to our guide ***. *** has extensive knowledge of the history and current events of Suriname. Highly recommended! He even bought ponchos for us and finished the tour, even though it took longer than expected. The preparation phase, however, was a bit less smooth since Baja Bikes had not passed our reservation on to the operational party. But fortunately, this was resolved, and the tour was even able to start 2 hours earlier. Many thanks!

Regarding the lack of clarity regarding payment, we could not pay by credit card or SRD, even though it was stated otherwise. But our guide was very good!
