The story of Baja Bikes

In 2005, we got started in Barcelona, with a clear concept: fun bike tours in Dutch through Barcelona, showing Dutch people this top city in about 3 hours, nice and relaxed by bike. The approach caught on, and Baja Bikes became a popular starting point for many city-trippers in Barcelona. This success inspired us to initially expand in Spain to Valencia and Madrid.

After the concept of Baja Bikes bike tours with native language guides proved successful there too, we started in top destinations such as Rome, London, Berlin and Paris. These were the first new cities in a period of steady but controlled expansion. The guiding principle here remained: hand-picked suppliers & tours. With that, Baja Bikes developed as a true hallmark for the bike tour & rental industry. Not only within Europe, but also in all other parts of the world Baja Bikes established a foothold. As far as Cape Town, New York, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok (see all Baja Bikes cities). Since then, Baja Bikes has become the market leader in bike tours and bike rentals, with more than 250 Baja Bikes cities worldwide.
