- Hagia Sophia
- The Blue Mosque
- Basilica Cisterne
- The Arasta Bazaar
- City Walls
- Süluymaniye Mosque
There is so much to see and do in this city. This is why doing our Highlights of Istanbul Bike Tour is not only a great way to get an overview of all the sights, but also to save some time. After doing a tour you will have a good impression of the city and your local English-speaking guide can give you some helpful insider tips, which you can benefit from during the rest of your stay.
Our tour starts at a 2-minutes’ walk from Hagia Sophia Museum. From here, a local experienced guide will take you along the sights and show you some hidden spots as well. Furthermore, you will cycle through the Gulhane Park that was originally part of the Topkapi Palace and pass through the hippodrome near the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Then you will head towards the sea, passing the Arasta bazaar.
Near the traditional Kumkapi fish market you will see beautiful views of the Marmara Sea, the islands and the Asian side of Istanbul. You will then head via the Sehzade mosque, the spectacular 4th century Roman aqueduct Valens, and the Vefa district before reaching the Suleymaniye mosque after a short climb. This mosque is the most important work of architect Sinan during the Ottoman Empire and from here you will have great panoramic views.
After this, you will head back to the starting point in Sultanahmet via the Golden Horn and the bustling Eminonu District. Of course, there will be enough time to take pictures as well and your guide will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
The minimum of the tour is 5 participants.

50 rate this tour with 4.7 starsEven though we were the only two participants, our bike tour still went ahead. We received a lot of information and had a wonderful time together. Definitely recommended.
We had a great trip! The electric bike needed some maintenance. The guide was fantastic! He showed us beautiful locations and gave us some tips and tricks! Heidi T was great 😉😄
It was great to get a feel for the old city like this. A great guide with good knowledge of historical sights!
Mesut is a fantastic guide. He not only knows a lot, but he also knows how to convey it. Highly recommended!
The bike was crap. Otherwise it was great.
*** did very well
Very friendly guide Ilker He speaks Dutch quite well and has a lot of information about the city and the history of the city Very satisfied with the tour on the Golden Horn
In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend a bike tour in Istanbul to others, especially not in the historic center, simply because this city isn't designed for cyclists. This isn't at all due to our guide, ***, who was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about the city and its history, and also a very friendly person. The tour was absolutely worth it, giving us a good overview of the historic center and all the sights. We benefited greatly from this in the days that followed. So many thanks to ***!
Our guide *** was fantastic! He told us all about the sights we visited and was happy to answer all our questions. His enthusiasm was infectious!
