A unique wine tasting experience only 50 minutes from Barcelona

There are more than 250 wineries in Penedès, making it the largest wine region in Catalonia. Due to its Mediterranean climate, Penedès is the perfect location for wine making – and for enjoyable exploration on a bicycle. The area is hilly, and therefore we do the tour on comfortable e-bikes, so it’s easy to do for everyone.

Our English-speaking guide will pick you up at the Lavern Subirats train station (about 50 minutes away from Sants, Plaça Catalunya or Arc de Triomf, the city center). Subirats is known as the ‘Capital of the Vine’ being as it is the largest municipality in El Penedès, with fantastic views over the Penedès region’s rolling hills.

The tour will start among the beautiful Penedès vineyards with a group of a maximum of 12 people. This tour combines cycling with a visit to one famous bodega (wine cellar), where you will have a wine or cava tasting. Cava is a famous sparkling wine from Catalonia (it can be compared to Champagne, but using local grape varietals).

You will be visiting a family-owned & organic winery so you will taste good local products, with a local guide who will give you insight into the Catalan wine culture.
