Olhão Bike Tour: breathtaking views and local charm

Your route begins at the brand new port of Olhão, where you cycle along the exquisite waterfront. Cycle past the market and the quay where the iconic fishing boat ‘Bom Sucesso’ is moored. As you continue along the Carreiras quay, you will have the opportunity to admire the picturesque islands of the Ria Formosa, including Faro, Hangares, Culatra and Armona. From the Nautical Club (GNO), past the fishing harbour and the industrial area, you will discover the heart of the city.

Before cycling into the Ria Formosa Nature Park, we pass some beautiful salt pans. The Ecovia, which runs alongside the original Bias railway crossing, leads us to Fuseta, also known as “Fozeta”. Here you can admire the lively fishing district with its colourful houses, charming church and beautiful village centre. Don’t forget to stop for refreshments at the “Borda d’Água” café!

The return journey to Olhão takes you through a variety of neighbourhoods, including the Panter quarter and the main street. You cycle past the courthouse and the picturesque Rua do Comércio, eventually ending up back at the markets and returning to the marina, where the adventure ends.
