The Bari Street Food Tour combines a cultural exploration of the city with a focus on Bari’s authentic street food. As you cycle through the narrow streets of the historic center and along the elegant avenues of the modern district, you’ll experience Bari from a different perspective, guided by a local guide who will immerse you in the city’s history, traditions, and fascinating stories.
Cycling and feasting in Bari
Here’s what you’ll see and experience:
- Basilica of St. Nicholas
- Cathedral of Saint Sabinus
- Norman-Swabian Castle
- Authentic old streets
- Meet food and wine producers
- Sample typical local delicacies
Along the way, we’ll pass some of Bari’s most important sights, including the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, St. Sabinus Cathedral, and the Norman-Swabian Castle, alternating cultural highlights with four dining stops dedicated to the region’s traditional flavors.
Our first stop is at a historic bakery, where you’ll taste the famous focaccia barese—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and traditionally prepared with cherry tomatoes, olives, and extra virgin olive oil. Next, we’ll enjoy a typical fried specialty, such as the panzerotto, a golden-brown pastry pouch traditionally filled with tomato and mozzarella.
The main tasting course varies depending on availability and the daily selection. It may consist of a platter of local cold cuts and cheeses, or a serving of spaghetti all’assassina, one of Bari’s most iconic dishes. The spaghetti is cooked directly in a pan with tomato sauce until a crispy, caramelized crust forms, giving it an intense and slightly spicy flavor. Both options are served with a glass of local wine.
To end the tour on a sweet note, we’ll stop at a local gelateria to enjoy a delicious artisanal ice cream. This is a fun and engaging experience, perfect for anyone who wants to discover Bari through its history, its most iconic sights, and the flavors that reflect the city’s true identity.

9 rate this tour with 4.7 starsWe did a tour with Baja in Valencia as well. Fist thing in Valencia was a short intro how the bike works and the traficrules for bikers are. That I missed here.
It was great
Gianluca give us the tour, this guy is the best. He know's ever
We liked the places we visited on the tour and the very friendly guide Cecilia 👍👍
We found Federica to be a great guide with a sense of humor. And the bike tour was super. What we had expected was that the street food tour would be incorporated into the bike tour, so that you get something to eat every now and then. It is also not mentioned that the type and atmosphere are separate. But the food was delicious.
Good organised
It was great!!👍❤️
It was a really nice tour with good information. And the food was great too. The tour ended 20 minutes early, which was a shame. Otherwise, we were satisfied.
*** was a great guide. Helpful, good communication, and service-oriented.
