Payment

Renting a bike is very easy!

  • The deposit is a copy of a credit card
  • Deductible in case of theft or damage: full value of the bicycle

Important to know:

  • Payment is made online a few days after booking
  • You’ll receive a payment link via email after booking
  • You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the tour
  • For 1-day bike rentals, the bikes must be returned at the end of the day.

We only rented bikes (for a day) and went to explore the city center and the surrounding area on our own. We really enjoyed this. This was based on other reviews indicating that cycling with a guide is indeed informative, but that you have to wait a long time for each other due to the many traffic lights.

We only rented bikes for the day. Everything went smoothly. The staff at the bike rental counter were incredibly friendly, funny, and competent. We'd give them five stars for that alone. The only downside was the functionality of the bikes, at least the ones we were given. They could have been in better condition. There was noise from the bottom bracket, the mudguard and front light were rubbing, and there was oil on the seat post, which immediately got my hand dirty.

It was almost like a private tour with a very nice guide who showed us some lovely spots and gave us tips to visit (again) on our own later. I had chosen a bike with a basket because I had rented the bike for the rest of my stay. The basket makes the bike quite unstable. Perhaps a tip would be to invest in a different basket or other bikes where this is less of an issue.

Baja Bikes rents out incredibly fun and colorful bikes. Baja Bikes is run by an enthusiastic team of mainly Dutch ladies. The rental process was a bit chaotic for us personally, because the tandem bikes I had requested online unfortunately turned out to be rented out. We decided to wait for the bikes that were rented to a group of German tourists until 1:00 PM. Fortunately, we had a very enjoyable afternoon on the bikes and were able to see a lot of Copenhagen with our two children, aged 5 and 8, in the front. They thoroughly enjoyed the cycling adventure just like us! I think exploring Copenhagen by bike is the very best way.
