During the Madeira Bicycle Tour with Private Guide you will discover the island at your own pace and with your own group. A true mountain bike paradise in the Atlantic Ocean! The route is suitable for both beginners and experienced mountain bikers. We adapt the route to your experience and make it as challenging as you want.

We start the bike tour at our store, here you will get explanations and tips about mountain bikes and biking on the island. Then we take you to Poiso, at 1400 meters altitude. This is where our bicycle tour starts. We start with a short climb and start this unforgettable experience.

Madeira: a true paradise for mountain bikers

After the short climb, we can assess the level of the group. Now our bike ride really starts. We can cycle leisurely along unpaved roads or take some accessible single trails. Thanks to the height differences on the island and its unique location, we can combine different routes. We cycle through forests, fields, on trails, dirt roads and through the rainforest. We also cycle past small villages. A unique experience for every level of mountain biker!

Little by little we descend to an altitude of 850 meters. We enjoy the fantastic views of the landscape and the ocean.

During the second part of our private tour of Madeira, we cycle about 20 kilometers through a beautiful green environment. We discover the nature on the island, consisting of forests of pines, eucalyptus and laurel. After this we cycle along the levada (canal) and the village of Camacha. During the last 10 kilometers of our tour we cycle leisurely downhill on a “normal” paved road.

You can easily book online and pay only on the spot. The bike tour takes place on mountain bikes. It is doable for mountain bikers with good physical condition and reasonable mastery of the bike, for hardtail and full-suspension mountain bikes. The tour is suitable for beginners, but also definitely interesting for advanced mountain bikers to discover the island.

We ride Radon ZR Team 2.0 | 27″ Mountain bikes (included). If you prefer to bike on a Radon Slide 150 9.0 | 27.5″, you can (surcharge €10,-). About the duration of the tour: we cycle about 5 hours.

The route includes some relatively wide trails with minor obstacles such as roots and rocks. Most of the route is downhill, with a small climb here and there. This experience can be booked for participants 15 years and older and 5-foot-5.
