We’ll start the bicycle tour at our shop, where you’ll receive instructions and tips about the mountain bikes and biking on the island. Then we’ll take you to Poiso, at an elevation of 1,400 meters. This is where our bicycle tour begins. We’ll start with a short climb and kick off this unforgettable experience.

Madeira: A True Paradise for Mountain Bikers

After the short climb, we can assess the group’s skill level. Now our bike tour really begins. We can ride at a leisurely pace on unpaved roads or tackle a few accessible single trails. Thanks to the island’s elevation changes and unique location, we can combine different routes. We’ll ride through forests, fields, along trails, on dirt roads, and through the rainforest. We’ll also ride past small villages. A unique experience for mountain bikers of all skill levels!

Little by little, we descend to an altitude of 850 meters. We enjoy the fantastic views of the landscape and the ocean.

During the second part of our private tour of Madeira, we’ll bike about 20 kilometers through beautiful green surroundings. We’ll explore the island’s natural landscape, which consists of pine, eucalyptus, and laurel forests. Afterward, we’ll cycle along the levada (the canal) and through the village of Camacha. During the last 10 kilometers of our trip, we’ll enjoy a leisurely downhill ride on a “regular” paved road.

You can easily make a reservation online. The bike tour is done on mountain bikes. It’s suitable for mountain bikers who are in good physical condition and have reasonable bike-handling skills, and is designed for both hardtail and full-suspension mountain bikes. The tour is suitable for beginners, but it’s also definitely interesting for advanced mountain bikers looking to explore the island.

We’ll be riding Radon ZR Team 2.0 | 27″ mountain bikes. As for the duration of the tour: we’ll be cycling for about 5 hours.

The route includes a few relatively wide trails with small obstacles such as roots and rocks. Most of the route is downhill, with a few short climbs here and there. This experience is available to participants who are at least 15 years old and 1 meter 50 tall.
