Ho Chi Minh City Tour by bike: a Relaxed and fun way to see the highlights
This is what you will see:
- State Bank of Vietnam
- Hoi Dong Men
- Thanh Gia Thu Thiem Church
- Delta rural village
- Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon
- Post Office
- Location of the American helicopter evacuation in 1975
- And much more!
Your adventure starts early, before the people of Saigon wake up. Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise and the calmness of the city, as well as some must-see highlights. Bike past the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, the Thanh Gia Thu Thiem Church, as well as through the Delta rural village. This complete tour has something for everyone.
The route takes you along the river, where you will be amazed by the French architecture around you. Pass Saigon’s oldest bank before continuing to District 2, the modern part of the city full of skyscrapers with breathtaking views. Afterwards, your guide will show you a beautiful hidden French church from 1840, which visitors usually don’t find themselves. Here you get to meet the Sisters and even get to try a local delicacy. Continue on to the Sala neighborhood, a residential area in development. You will make a short stop for a refreshing drink before continuing on to a completely different world: a small Mekong Delta Village with typical Vietnamese houses, coconut trees, farms and chicken. Enjoy an authentic breakfast and after filling your stomach you continue on to one of the most popular sights in the city: the Notre Dame cathedral. You will have enough time to admire the cathedral and take pictures before you ride your bike to the last stop, a historically important landmark during the Vietnam war. It is the place where the Americans fled via a helicopter in 1975. After hearing all about the history, you cycle back to the meeting point and the tour ends around noon. The tour in total is about 28 km (17 mi) of relaxed cycling.
